Welcome to the Family!

Friday night, September 8th (Steve's birthday!), Amy and Shawn had their baby boy!  HIs name is Harrison Cooper Geiger, and he weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs 13 oz!  Mark and I went to the hospital to see him Sunday.  He's a cute little thing with a head full of dark hair.  Here are some pics!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TREY!!!

20060813_201_1This weekend we celebrated Trey's 30th birthday.  Trey's girlfriend Kelly's parents have a house boat up on Lake Lanier.  Unfortunately, this was the weekend that it rained enough to fill the lake back up after a really dry summer.  It was overcast and really windy all day Saturday when everyone came up.  Luckily, Trey and Kelly picked the girls up on Friday (they took the day off), and took them up to the lake early.  That way, when Mark and I got off work, all we had to do was drive straight up 400 to get there early Friday evening.  Kelly's dad parked the house boat on this really cool island.  The girls were able to roam leash-free all weekend!  We found out Lucy really loves to swim.  She kept going in the water on her own, and doing laps!  Kelly has a shelty named Riley, so Daisy and Lucy had a playmate to chase and torment.  The temperature was awesome, so we did get to enjoy  hanging out on the beach that first night.  Trey and Mark got to wake board some too.  Even though it rained on Saturday, everyone came up, and we all had a good time.  The highlight of the day was when the wind made the boat come un-tethered.  It took everyones help to get it tied back down in place!  Later, we built a fire and played some bocce on the beach.  Now Trey and Mark are in the club...I guess I'll be next!

Auburn Football 2006

20060813_054

Are you ready for football season?  We are!  My favorite Auburn blog to read is Football Saturday in the South.  The author, Jay Coulter is a true Auburn fan.  He loves Auburn, and he scours the various Auburn sites out there, and posts links to interesting articles on his site.  His commentary is usually right in line with my opinions.  I really enjoy hearing what he has to say.  He took a break over the winter and spring, but now he's back.  I check this site every day, especially now that football season is almost here.  I gave a lot of you the link for his site last year, but here it is again.  Just mark it in your favorites.  That way, it will be easy to check back regularly!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

20060723_081

Well, we've made it through our first year of marriage!  This year has really flown by, and we've enjoyed so many things that have happened.  We hope that the years to come continue to be as much fun. Over the last couple of weeks, we've celebrated Mark's birthday (3 times!), and this weekend we've celebrated our anniversary.  To the left are some recent pictures.  Yesterday, we went back to the Georgia Aquarium.  There's no need to worry about that place going out of business.  It was as crowded yesterday as it was the last time we went, back in December.  Last month they added 2 new whale sharkes, making 4 total.  After that, we went to the Bodies Exhibit at the Civic Center.  We don't have any pictures to post of that, but that show was amazing.  It's an exhibit of real bodies, preserved and displayed in full form, and by each organ individually in cases.  At the end, you get to hold an actual brain!  After our tour of Atlanta attractions, we went to a nice dinner at McCormick and Schmick's.  Today, we're just going to hang out around the house and cook filet mignon on the grill!

Home Again!

20060704_001

So, we're finally back at home and rested again.  We flew out to Bolder, CO Thursday night, June 29th.  We spent the night at Melissa's house with Sholeh and Melissa's parents.  The next morning, all of us drove up to Breckenridge.  What a gorgeous drive!  I kept taking pictures from the car.  We got together with everyone for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner that night.  It was so awesome getting to see everyone!  The next day, the weather wasn't so good.  It would rain off and on.  The wedding was outside, so we had to wait for the rain to stop.  The reception was fun.  Everyone danced and had a good time.  The next day, Melissa, her boyfriend Carl, their dog, Merle, her parent's, Ken and Miriam, Sholeh, Mark and I went camping over in Buena Vista (about an hour from Breckenridge.  The day after that, we went white water rafting with about 30 people from the wedding party on the Arkansas river!  It was so much fun!  We're definitely interested in doing that again!  We flew back home on the 4th of July.  It was a really fun trip, but very exhausting!  We couldn't wait to get back home and get to sleep in a real bed (as opposed to an air mattress).  The pictures from the trip are posted to the left.  Yesterday, we had a pool party at Trey's girlfriend, Kelly's apartment for Mark's birthday.  We had a great time there, too, but unfortunately, we don't have any pictures.  The camera didn't charge, so the battery died.  Oh, well...those pictures might have been incriminating anyway!  What happens at Mark's birthday party stays at Mark's birthday party...just kiddin'!

Rocky Mountain High

20060611_142

Hi everybody!  We just got back from our friends' (Pat and Charity's) wedding in Boulder, CO.  We've added some new pictures from our trip over in the photo album section.  We had so much fun there!  We were there for 5 days, so we had plenty of time to see the sites.  The coolest thing we did was drive over to Rocky Mountain National Park.  We drove on up on Trail Ridge Road, which is the highest, continuous, paved road in the U.S.  It was absolutely breathtaking.  We were right at eye level with snow covered peaks!  At the top, we got out and hiked for about a mile to climb up even higher.  It doesn't sound like very far to hike, but we were all out of breath because of the altitude (over 12,000 ft.).  We were also freezing, because none of us thought we were actually going to go up to the top, and we were all wearing shorts and flip-flops!  We all had a great time, though.  The wedding was beautiful, and it was great getting to see our friend Melissa too (she also lives there in Boulder).  The funniest thing is...we're going back there in just a few weeks.  Our friend Lina is getting married in Breckenridge, CO July 2nd.  I guess we'll have more breathtaking photos to show then!
